Western Visayas police arrest 226 fugitives in weeklong campaign

The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) reported a significant achievement in its campaign against wanted persons, arresting 226 individuals from May 6 to 12, 2024.

According to the Regional Operations Division, 212 operations were conducted across the region, resulting in the apprehension of 42 most wanted persons (MWP) and 184 other wanted persons (OWP).

Among the arrested MWPs, the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) and Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) each accounted for 11 arrests. The Antique Police Provincial Office (AntPPO) made six arrests, while the Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO) and Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6 (RMFB6) each made five. The Aklan Police Provincial Office (AkPPO), Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO), Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), and Guimaras Police Provincial Office (GPPO) each reported one arrest.

For the 184 OWPs, contributions were as follows:

– NOCPPO: 82

– IPPO: 47

– AntPPO: 16

– BCPO: 10

– ICPO: 8

– CPPO: 7

– AkPPO and RMFB6: 6 each

– GPPO: 2

Police Brigadier General Jack L. Wanky, Western Visayas Police Chief, commended the dedication and hard work of the police operatives.

“Congratulations and keep up the good work in these accomplishments. May these arrests serve as warnings to the remaining wanted persons in the region that they cannot hide forever from the long arms of the law,” he said.
