The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) is intensifying efforts to ensure public safety during the holiday season by maximizing the deployment of officers across Western Visayas.
Police Brigadier General Jack L. Wanky, PRO-6 Director, directed all unit commanders during a Command Conference on Nov. 29 to focus on strategic areas such as malls, transport hubs, and tourist destinations to prevent crimes and manage crowds.
“This Yuletide season, it is expected that there will be an influx of people and tourists in the different areas in the region,” said PBGen Wanky. “Review your respective areas of responsibility as to the crime-prone areas, crime clock, where traffic congestion mostly happens, among others, and take proactive actions on these.”
PBGen Wanky emphasized the importance of collaboration with local government units, barangay officials, force multipliers, and other organizations to ensure a peaceful and secure holiday season.
“By closely working with them, we will surely make this year-end celebration peaceful, joyful, and memorable for everyone,” he added.
Police personnel will also receive thorough briefings before deployment, and all crime prevention efforts will be closely supervised and monitored to ensure effectiveness.
The Command Conference, attended by PRO-6 Command Group members, provincial and city directors, force commanders, and chiefs of police, reinforced the commitment to public safety as a top priority for the region.
With these measures in place, PRO-6 aims to provide a safe environment for holiday shoppers, commuters, and tourists, ensuring the festivities are celebrated with peace and security. (Photo from PRO6)
