Why refuse HCQ treatment?

By Modesto P. Sa-onoy

A friend shared a message from his doctor that appears like a reaction to my series of columns on the effectiveness and safety of hydroxychloroquine or HCQ.

“HCQ is an old drug, used for malaria and rheumatoid arthritis. It is FDA approved. It has been used and is still being used by millions with lupus and rheumatoid arthritis.

“Now you tell me it is ‘unsafe’ and had ‘adverse side effects’? Why didn’t the Department of Health say that last year when there was no Covid-19? Why the sudden concern about the side effects of the drug used by millions prior to 2019?”

Why, indeed, was the drug, HCQ, good for over 60 years not good now? Well, the street smart guys, like those in the Department of Health might reply that it is good for lupus and rheumatoid arthritis but not for the corona virus because it causes the “adverse side effect”. Well, maybe covid-19 is a special kind of virus that awaits only for the vaccine that power and money brokers will still produce.

That sort of exchange is common when we deal with the pilosopo’s sarcasm but it makes sense when we place it in relation to the action of the World Health Organization, Dr. Anthony Fauci and the Philippines DOH and the massive funding by vaccine makers and sponsors of the new world order.

Anyway, I got more information about Dr. Vladimir Zelenko’s findings that you can also secure through your internet. As I cited earlier the medications used by Dr. Zelenko in his treatment approach were zinc, low dose hydroxychloroquine, and azithromycin – and the “cocktail” worked.

According to Zelenko, the deficiency of prior studies of COVID-19 treatments using HCQ were “largely based on severely ill patients in the hospital.” On the other hand, his study examined outcomes of patients treated after their first visit to the doctor. Using simple risk stratification criteria, he identified which patients required prescriptions for the triple drug therapy, and prescribed these medications for five days. And voila! The patient is cured. No adverse side effects.

And that is what our doctors are saying.

Dr. Zelenko collaborated with Dr. Roland Derwand, a German medical doctor and life science industry expert, and Professor Martin Scholz, an independent consultant and adjunct professor for experimental medicine at Heinrich Heine University in Germany. Derwand and Scholz performed the data analysis; Zelenko handled all in-person treatments.

“The main results show that of 141 patients who were treated with the triple therapy, only 2.8% (4/141) were hospitalized compared to 15.4% of an untreated control group (58/377). Only 0.71% (1/141) patients died in the treatment group, versus 3.5% (13/377) in the untreated group.

“These three medications are affordable, available in pill form, and work in synergy against COVID-19,” said Zelenko. I think that is one reason HCQ is now (but not before) unfit. There’s little money there. Wait for the expensive, new vaccine and stock values soar.

Zelenko explains that “Hydroxychloroquine’s main function within this treatment approach is to allow zinc to enter the cell. Zinc is the virus killer, and azithromycin prevents secondary bacterial infection in the lungs and reduces the risk of pulmonary complications.”

“The world seems to have forgotten common medical knowledge: that we want to treat any patient with an infectious disease as soon as possible,” said Derwand. “What differentiates this study is that patients were prescribed these medications early, in the outpatient setting. Dr. Zelenko treated his risk stratified patients immediately and didn’t wait for the disease to intensify.”

Well, isolation without medication is “waiting time” for the disease to intensify. So, release the isolation facilities construction budget because there is no bidding during the crisis.

“The well-tolerated 5-day triple therapy resulted in a significantly lower hospitalization rate and less fatalities with no reported cardiac side effects compared with relevant public reference data of untreated patients,” Sholz added.

“It’s unfortunate much of the news coverage surrounding hydroxychloroquine has been negative,” Zelenko lamented. “This study suggests that when taken early and together with zinc and azithromycin, this cost-effective drug can be part of the solution to the pandemic.”

And that is exactly what our doctors are suggesting and had gone nationwide to appeal to the government. Will the government listen and end the national anguish?
