One of the greatest two-guards in the PBA is working with the league but not on the playing court.

Willie “The Thriller” Miller, a former two-time league Most Valuable Player (MVP) and a multiple champion with the Alaska Aces is currently in talks with PBA commissioner Willie Marcial involving a possible opportunity in Subic.

When asked about the league’s plan after showing interest in mimicking the NBA restart bubble, Marcial said “Sa Subic, may kausap na ako doong may-ari ng golf course, at kausap ko rin si Willie Miller.”

Miller, who is from Olongapo, offered his help to the PBA chief after saying that if the PBA needs anything regarding the setup of the bubble in Subic, Miller will help.

“Kasi taga-Olongapo siya eh. Kasi siya nagsabi sa akin nung last month, Comm, baka magmala-NBA ang liga, may mga kilala ako. Sabi ko, Sige, patingin,” Marcial said.

Previously, Marcial and the rest of the PBA board expressed their interest in copying the pattern of the NBA bubble and execute the same format in the PBA.

Since the NBA bubble restart, players, coaching staff, and the NBA personnel registered 0 COVID-19 cases leaving other leagues impressed with how thorough their protocols were.

For Marcial and PBA board president Ricky Vargas, duplicating what the NBA has done would be their top priority and they are already looking at Subic, Laguna, Cubao, and Clark as the choices for the possible PBA bubble.

However, money is still the issue for the PBA after Marcial bared that to put up such bubble, they need to have a stable amount of money that can sustain all expenses until the end.
