A woman facing a previous drug charge was arrested in a police anti-narcotics operation on the morning of Nov. 14 in Estancia, Iloilo.
The suspect, known by the alias “Miraflor,” 48, was apprehended at her home in Barangay Gogo, Estancia.
Members of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office – Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (IPPO-PDEU) Team 3, along with personnel from the IPPO Provincial Intelligence Unit, 2nd Iloilo Provincial Mobile Force Company, Iloilo Maritime Police Station, and Estancia Municipal Police Station, arrested her after a sachet of suspected shabu worth P6,800 was purchased.
Authorities also seized five additional sachets of suspected shabu and several non-drug items.
Major Dadje Delima, IPPO-PDEU chief, reported that the drugs weighed approximately 185 grams, with an estimated street value of P1.258 million.
According to reports, the suspect was previously arrested in a buy-bust operation by the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU) 6 in 2022.
She gained temporary liberty after the court granted her request to post bail.
Delima said the suspect’s area of operations includes northern Iloilo and Capiz province.
The drugs were allegedly sourced from high-value drug personalities in Estancia and Metro Manila.
Delima added that Miraflor had street-level pushers and runners working under her.
Miraflor is currently detained and will be charged with violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
