BACOLOD City – A woman died while her husband was wounded after they figured in a road accident in Barangay Inayauan, Cauayan, Negros Occidental last Wednesday.
The fatality was Ritchel Robles, 36, of Barangay Magballo, Kabankalan City while her husband Benedicto Robles, 35, was wounded.
Police Corporal Rayzen Bonn Rivera, traffic investigator of Cauayan Municipal Police Station, said the couple, who was riding a motorcycle, was on their way to Barangay Bulata when they avoided a tricycle that was running on the same direction.
“Daw nag timing bala dungan sila paguwa sa dalan, so ang motor nag iwas para indi niya mabungguan ang tricycle,” Rivera said.
However, the couple’s motorcycle swerved and hit a stall and a tree.
The victims were thrown off from their motorcycle and fell into a canal, Rivera said.
“Nag balang-balang sila, gin try maneuver sang laki ang motor pero nawad-an na siya control,” Rivera said.
Ritchel died on the spot, while her husband was taken to a hospital.
Rivera said that both had no helmets, adding that Benedicto even has no driver’s license.
