A woman was arrested in a police anti-narcotics operation evening of Oct 18, 2022 at Barangay San Miguel, Jordan, Guimaras.
Police identified the suspect as Lorelie Parreño, 35, a resident of Brgy. Libertad, Lapuz, Iloilo.
Members of the Guimaras Police Provincial Office-Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (GPPO-PDEU), together with the Jordan Municipal Police Station and GPPO Provincial Intelligence Unit, collared Parreño for allegedly selling a sachet of suspected shabu for P500.
Recovered from her possession were 4 sachets of suspected shabu weighing 15 grams.
Major Kennith Bermejo, GPPO-PDEU chief, said the seized drugs have a standard drug price of P102,000.
It was earlier reported that Parreño is a stay-in worker at a resort in Jordan town.
But Bermejo clarified that the suspect has been staying and helping out in the resort, as she knows the owner.
“We believed that she’s laying low in Guimaras because authorities in Iloilo City are hot on her trails,” Bermejo said.
Parreño’s name was put on the police watchlist following the arrest of her downline a month ago.
The suspect had no previous arrest for any offense.
She reportedly sourced her shabu supply from a distributor in Jaro, Iloilo City.
Parreño is now detained and will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9166 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
