BACOLOD City – A woman was arrested while her boyfriend escaped from a buy-bust operation that resulted in the seizure of P136,000 worth of suspected shabu at Purok Kabulakan 1, Barangay Singcang-Airport here yesterday.
Police identified the suspect as Sarian Joy Cagayanan, 33, of Barangay 35 here who is listed by police as a street level individual.
Police Major Joery Puerto, head of Police Station 8, said that Cagayanan allegedly sold a shabu to a police agent for P500 while her boyfriend, who was the subject of the operation, evaded police operatives by jumping into a canal.
Puerto said the couple had been staying at the boarding house for about two weeks now.
Recovered from the couple were six sachets of suspected shabu weighing 20 grams, a pouch, a black sling bag, and the P500 marked money.
Puerto said the couple reportedly talks to someone through a video call in a pension house, based on their two-week monitoring.
“Dalagko ni ang ginahulog ka subject, tag 400 grams, tapos ga meet sila sa hotel or pension house,” he added.
Puerto said that drug charges are being readied against Cagayanan, who is detained at Police Station 8.
Meanwhile, Police Brigadier General Flynn Dongbo, director of Police Regional Office (PRO)-6, lauded the police operatives for the successful operation and encouraged them to continue the relentless effort on the anti-illegal drugs campaign.
