WOMEN BRGY AND SK OFFICIALS VOW TO UPHOLD GENDER-RESPONSIVE GOVERNANCE

With fellow seasoned women policymakers such as Senator Risa Hontiveros, Bacolod City Councilor Celia Flor, and Pasig City Councilors Angelu De Leon and Corie Raymundo as witnesses, newly-elected women Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan officials pledged on Tuesday to use their fresh mandates to promote equality and inclusion through gender-responsive governance at the local level.

As we observe the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence against Women and their Children (VAWC), the Institute of Politics and Governance (IPG) urges Filipinos to recognize that our country is #blooming with hope when the rights and welfare of women are represented at all levels in communities, especially the barangays.

This event titled “Blossoms in the Grassroots” was made possible through the IPG’s partnership with the City Government of Pasig.

Women Power Hub and its partners are set to reach even more women in politics and governance through capacity building, technical assistance, mentoring, and networking under the Leadership in Governance and Learning Collaboration Hub (LeadGovHub) program.
