BACOLOD CITY – A construction worker was busted with 90 grams of suspected shabu worth P612,000 in a rented house in Barangay Mandalagan here last Saturday.

Joselito Detoyato, 40, was apprehended by operatives of the Police Drug Enforcement Group – Special Operations Unit (PDEG-SOU)-6.

Authorities confiscated 18 sachets of suspected shabu and P14,000 in boodle money from the suspect.

Major Eugene Tolentino, head of Police Station 8, stated that Detoyato had been previously arrested for a drug offense in the area of Police Station 3 and had only recently been released from jail.

After Detoyato had recently been seen engaging in suspicious activities, police coordinated with the PDEG to conduct the sting operation. Tolentino also noted that Detoyato allegedly moved frequently to transact his illegal business.

“The suspect is considered a high-value target, listed at the regional level,” reported PDEG. Charges related to drug offenses are currently being prepared against him, with Detoyato detained at Police Station 8.

The operation was a collaborative effort with the Regional Intelligence Unit (RIU)-6, and the Integrity Monitoring Enforcement Group (IMEG) Visayas Field Unit.
