BACOLOD City – The two factions of the Yanson clan who are bickering over their family-owned bus empire continue to re-elect their respective directors in other branches of the firm.
In a press statement to Daily Guardian here, Atty. Carlo Narvasa said the annual meeting of the Bachelor Express shareholders was held recently at the Seda Centro Hotel in Cagayan de Oro.
Narvasa presided over the meeting as proxy for president and chairman of the board of directors Ma. Lourdes Celina Lopez.
Narvasa is the legal counsel of Yanson siblings Celina, Emily, Roy, and Ricardo Jr., also known as Y4.
The press statement further said that the Y4 and Matthew Agustine Y. Lopez were elected by the shareholders anew as members of the Board of Directors of the corporation for the years 2021- 2022.
The shareholders ratified all acts and transaction of the Board of Directors and management of the corporation under the leadership of its President, Ma. Lourdes Celina Lopez.
In the organizational meeting that followed, the directors re-elected Ma. Lourdes Celina V. Lopez as Chairman of the Board of Directors and President, Roy Yanson as Vice President for Operations, Emily V. Yanson as Treasurer and Chief Finance Officer, Ricardo Yanson Jr., as Corporate Secretary, Anna Isabella Galvez as Assistant Corporate Secretary, and Carlo Joaquin Narvasa as Vice President for Legal.
The press statement further said that the new directors of the company also vowed to continue court actions to unravel minority shareholders’ activities and their pretense to act on behalf of the company despite the absence of any legal basis for them to do so.
In a separate press statement, the group of Leo Rey Yanson said that the Southern Star Bus Transport, Inc. also held its annual meeting of stockholders.
It further said that Leo Rey, his sister Ginnette, and their mother Olivia Yanson are still in control of the corporation.
During the meeting, Leo Rey V. Yanson, Ginnette Y. Dumancas, Charles M. Dumancas, Olivia V. Yanson and Arvin John V. Villaruel were re-elected to SSBTI’s Board of Directors.
Following the election of the directors, the Board held an organizational meeting wherein Leo Rey V. Yanson was re-appointed as chairman of the board and president of SSBTI, while Olivia V. Yanson was re-appointed as SSBTI’s corporate secretary and treasurer.
Leo Rey V. Yanson confirmed that despite the challenges faced in 2020, SSBTI remains strong and resilient.
