BACOLOD CITY – Dolly Yasa of Daily Guardian swept all individual honors in the women’s category, while Arman Toga of the Negros Daily Bulletin led the men’s event with the highest single and double scores at the 2024 Negros Press Club (NPC) Fellowship Bowling Games on Saturday at the Goldenfield Commercial Complex.
The Green Team, led by captain Henceboy Cestina and managed by Lourd John Diaz and Rey Siason, scored 810 points after two games to claim the overall championship.
Yasa, a director and past president of the NPC, registered the highest pinning score with 77, the highest single game with 88, and a total score of 165 after two games, dominating the women’s division.
Representing the Green Team, Toga scored 102 in a single game and followed up with a strong second game to lead the men’s category. However, the highest pinning award in the men’s division went to former NPC president Boy Ciocon, who toppled 87 pins.
The Green Team also included Roger Beltran, Merlinda Pedrosa, Aladdin Salas, Robert Cabalfin, Marcolin Cabawatan, Babes Gantalao, and Luisito Berjit.
The Yellow Team, led by Nona Magbanua and Nida Buenafe with anchor Mark Salanga, earned first runner-up honors with 766 points. The Orange Team, represented by Yasa and Yves Montecillo, placed second runner-up with 729 points, while the Red Team of Mae Singuay and Nanette Guadalquiver secured third runner-up honors with 726 points.
The 2024 Negros Press Club Fellowship Games were organized in partnership with Megaworld Corporation.
During the opening ceremony, Harold Geronimo, Vice President for Public Relations and Media Affairs at Megaworld, highlighted the media’s role in Bacolod City’s economic growth and pledged continued support for NPC activities.
Bacolod City Rep. Greg Gasataya, a former radio broadcaster, also attended the event and expressed his enduring support for the media, stating that it would always hold a special place in his heart.
