BACOLOD City – Police arrested a young man in a buy-bust operation that resulted in the recovery of 106 grams of suspected shabu worth P720,800 at Purok Sigay, Barangay 2 here yesterday.

The subject was identified as Jeo Tongoy, 21, of the said village.

Police Captain Joven Mogato, head of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU), said they received information about Tongoy’s alleged involvement in the illegal drug trade, prompting them to operate against him.

Police also recovered from him the P1,000 marked money, and P200.

Mogato said that Tongoy is a newly-identified individual but at the same time a high-value individual, considering the huge volume of illegal drugs seized from him.

When asked for a reaction regarding the recent arrest of young individuals in illegal drugs, Mogato said these persons are being used by drug peddlers as they are easily influenced by money.

Mogato said that young ones are also trained to replace those who will be busted, citing the case of Tongoy.

But he said the subject just started engaging in illegal activity based on their three-week monitoring.
