BACOLOD CITY — A retired Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) officer was arrested last Wednesday during a buy-bust operation in Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental, that netted P149,600 worth of suspected shabu.

The operation took place at Crossing Dungon, Barangay Talaban, targeting the 63-year-old man, a resident of Binalbagan town, whose name has been withheld by the police.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Anthony Grande, the city police chief, stated that the suspect had been identified by previously arrested drug suspects as their alleged source of illegal drugs.

“We have been monitoring the suspect after learning about his alleged illegal activities,” Grande explained.

According to Grande, the operation was launched recently as the suspect frequently moved from one location to another.

The police filed drug charges against the suspect on Thursday.
