TFK, TESDA partnership for skills training and livelihood underway

Bacolod City- Task Force Kasanag, a people’s organization is set to enter  into a partnership with the Technical Education and Skills  Development Authority (TESDA)for skills training and livelihood  opportunities for its members nationwide.

TFK founder and national commander Dr. John Chiong DHum  announced this Wednesday during its 15th Anniversary celebration where  TESDA Region 7 director Ramon Evan Ruiz  represented TESDA Secretary Suharto Teng T. Mangudadato as guest of honor.

Chiong said this program is geared to help TFK members especially the out of school youth have an income of their own after a short period of training.

He added that ” what is the use of our advocacy for peace and progress if there is no action, so with the help of TESDA our members can acquirw skills that they can utilize for livelihood opportunities.”

On his part, Ruiz stressed that it is part of the mission of TESDA to provide technical education and skills development for Filipinos who are underserved, those that are left out, persons deprived of liberty,displaced overseas Filipino workers  and others and give them a second hope.

Ruiz  pointed out that while TESDA can provide the training learners must first be willing to learn.

“Our objective here is to turn them into productive citizens of this country,” he added.

Ruiz said that there will be a forging of a memorandum of  agreement between TESDA and TFK  on the national level as the target is the members of TFK nationwide.

” And then we will implement that,” he added.

Meanwhile, Chiong reiterated his call to TFK  members to uphold the advocacy of the group against corruption and the four menace in the community, criminality, illegal drugs, terrorism and illegal gambling.

” While exist in the spirit of volunteerism, we should be part of the solution not the cause of the problem,” Chiong further said.

TFK was founded in Negros in 2009 with its central headquarters in Barangay Alijis, Bacolod City.

From a handful of men united by the desire to contribute to the betterment of society it now has thousands of members nationwide with chapters in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, Chiong said.#
