12 DOT-6 workers contract COVID-19

Twelve employees working at the Department of Tourism (DOT) Regional Office 6 in Casa Real (Old Capitol), Iloilo City were infected with COVID-19.

In its official statement issued on Tuesday, July 20, 2021, DOT-6 confirmed that 12 of its staff tested positive for the virus.

“Despite protective measures being practiced in the workplace, it is unfortunate that we inform the public that 12 staff working at the Department of Tourism (DOT) Regional Office 6 tested positive for COVID-19.”

The tourism department said the patients are undergoing isolation.

“As of the moment, they were already isolated and most of them are either asymptomatic or manifested mild symptoms.”

Following the incident, the DOT Regional Office will be temporarily closed until further notice.

“We seek your continued understanding and prayers.  We thank Mayor Jerry Treñas and Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor Jr. for their immediate assistance to the office.”
