BACOLOD City – Two more personnel of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) here were infected by coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
This was confirmed yesterday by Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, BCPO’s public information officer.
Pico said the two policemen were assigned to Police Station 2 and the Traffic Enforcement Unit of the BCPO. Both are asymptomatic.
Pico said both of them were part of the 351 BCPO personnel, who joined the surveillance testing last Sunday.
Pico said these two police officers were already transferred to a quarantine facility in Barangay Alijis.
“Indi malikawan abi because of the nature of our work, dako possibility because may contact sa mga tawo,” Pico said.
He said they have yet to know if other officers were also infected since contact tracing is ongoing.
These are the two new cases of BCPO since August, wherein they have recorded five COVID cases among their personnel.
Meanwhile, the remaining BCPO personnel who have yet to undergo swab testing will be tested on Dec 5, Pico said.
