BACOLOD City – More than 150 teams are set to participate in the 2nd edition of the 6100 Football Festival here from May 13 to 14.
The said activity is an 8-aside tournament held at the Bacolod City National High School.
According to 6100 First Touch secretary-general Jeffrey Velez, the activity aims to continue the development of football here and in Negros Occidental.
Velez said that this is also a way to promote the sportsmanship and camaraderie of the participating players and coaches.
“Through football, we realized the full benefit that this sport can bring to our lives, and with this, we commit to sharing this with the community,” Velez said, adding that football is the top sport in the world.
Velez believed that with constant involvement in football activities, they can discover potential talents that will inspire athletes to dream big.
“As soon as the team is ready, we will participate in local, regional, and national tournaments,” he said.
Velez said the core group of 6100 First Touch players is composed of varsity alumni and young professionals.
“We just don’t build a team, we build a family. We are guided by our core values which are discipline, commitment, and respect,” he added.
Velez said that playing football is about enjoying the sport and improving physical fitness. But, he noted that they always act in the spirit of fair play, fostering friendship, and contributing to the betterment of society.
The first edition of the football festival was held in April last year at the La Provincia Polo-Bantug Field here.
