3 Aklan towns have new fire stations

KALIBO, Aklan – Three towns in Aklan that have been relying from their neighboring towns for fire emergencies and rescues now have their own fire stations and fire trucks.

The new fire stations located in the municipalities of Nabas, Banga and Batan were activated within the first two months of 2021.

The Nabas Fire Station was officially activated on January 28, 2021 with Nabas Mayor James Solanoy, Bureau of Fire Protection-VI Regional Director Senior Supt Jerry D. Candido, and Acting Provincial Fire Marshal Chief Inspector Patricio Collado in attendance.

The activation ceremony also included the commissioning of Fire Truck Engine 61.

Nabas Fire Station is manned by nine BFP personnel headed by Senior Fire Officer 1 Refrey R. Refendor, a former Municipal Fire Prevention Officer of the said town.

Candido and Collado activated the Banga and Batan fire stations on February 3. Mayors Erlinda Maming for Banga and Rodell R. Ramos for Batan attended the events.

The former Chief of Fire Safety Enforcement Section at the Office of the Provincial Marshal, Senior Fire Officer I Felinor Suco, is the designated acting municipal fire marshal of Banga fire station with 10 fire officers under his leadership.

Candido also assigned Senior Fire Officer II Paul Morales as Acting Municipal Fire Marshal of Batan fire station. He was the former Officer-in-Charge of Fire Safety Enforcement Section of Kalibo Fire Station.

Batan Fire Station is manned by nine BFP Personnel.
