BACOLOD City – The Police Regional Office (PRO)-6 has recalled 300 police officers to beef up police forces in Iloilo City and province which are under Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) from June 16 to 30, 2021.
The augmentation force includes 79 officers from Aklan, 34 from Antique, 98 from Bacolod, 42 from Capiz, 2 from Guimaras, and 45 from Negros Occidental.
The personnel traveled to Iloilo as soon as they received their reassignment order.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Joem Malong, PRO-6 spokesperson, said these personnel were recruits awaiting their Basic Internal Safety Operations Course (Bisoc).
“They are not part of the actual strength of the said police offices,” she added.
Malong said it is not yet definite as to how long they will stay in Iloilo City, but they will be redistributed as soon as the quarantine status eases.
Malong said that these police officers previously augmented other police offices, but they were recalled and moved to Iloilo to secure border control points under a stricter quarantine status.
Meanwhile, Police Major Sherlock Gabana, information officer of Bacolod City Police Office, said they were somehow affected with the sudden recall of the personnel, but they will catch up with their compliances.
