ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go led the blessing and launching of the 63rd Malasakit Center Monday morning inside the Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital here.
Go also turned over a check for P5 million for poor patients who seek medical services at the province-run hospital.
Back in 2018, the first Malasakit Center was launched by the government in the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center (VSMMC) in Cebu City.
Governor Esteban Evan Contreras thanked the senator for the project which was supposed to be launched on Nov 6, 2019 but was postponed due to the hectic schedule of the senator.
“Finally, it now happened. Our poor constituents will not anymore worry because they will be going out in the hospital with zero-balance billing,” the governor said.
Go apologized for the delay in the program, but he said the program will continue as ordered by President Rodrigo Duterte.
Go then proceeded to the town of Panay, Capiz and gave cash assistance to residents whose homes were destroyed by typhoon Ursula.
