BACOLOD City – A man was shot to death by unidentified motorcycle-riding assailants at the back of La Consolacion College (LCC) along Galo Street in Barangay 12 here Wednesday night.
Police Major Jovil Sedel, head of Police Station 1, identified the fatality as Norman Enoperio, 40, of the said village.
Sedel said the victim was walking with his two companions on their way to eat dinner when he stopped at the said area to urinate.
The assailants, who were clad in black jackets, caps, and masks, arrived and allegedly shot him at close range.
Enoperio died on the spot due to gunshot wounds on his head and body.
Police recovered from the scene five shells and two deformed slugs of .9mm-caliber ammunition.
Sedel said one of the gunmen learned that his partner was being pimped by Enoperio.
“It probably triggered the incident. He (Enoperio) received a threat recently because of it,” he added.
Sedel said Enoperio had previous records for theft and was allegedly using illegal drugs.
Police have acquired a copy of a closed circuit television (CCTV) camera footage installed near the crime scene but they could not clearly see the faces of the perpetrators.
