The PBA family vowed to help legend Nelson “The Bull” Asaytono after he suffered a heart attack and is currently in recovery state.

On April 11, 2020, Asaytono was discharged in a hospital in General Trias, Cavite according to the PBA website.

After hearing the news, PBA commissioner Willie Marcial immediately put out a statement that they are lending help to Asaytono.

Aside from the PBA support, Marcial also said that Asaytono’s co-PBA legends, who he had ferocious playoff battles with in the past, will be chipping in to also help him.

Under his belt, Asaytono garnered seven PBA championships under Purefoods, Sunkist, and Red Bull with three First Mythical Team selections.

His aggressive style of game during his 17-season career in the PBA tagged him as one of the most imposing big men to ever set foot on the hardwood, earning him the moniker “The Bull” because of his bulky build and strength underneath.

One of the highlights of Asaytono’s career was winning two Best Player of the Conference trophies while making the All-Star selection 10 times in his career.
