The San Miguel Corporation (SMC) and Armed Forces of the Philippines’ (AFP) collaboration in building 10 quarantine facilities around military camps nationwide has been successfully completed.
These 10 facilities were built to accommodate and attend to COVID-19 patients with mild to no symptoms and to help decongest hospitals.
In total, the 10 facilities have 150 beds, 15 each, and are located in different parts in the Metro approved and helped by the AFP for conversion.
“This collaboration will help the government save more lives, including the lives of our military personnel who are one of our front liners during this pandemic,” SMC president and COO Ramon S. Ang said.
Ang also added that the building of these facilities is one of their top priorities since the number of Persons Under Investigation (PUI) is increasing each day, and they need to be ready in advance.
With the completion of the first 10 facilities, Ang said they are planning to increase areas ready for conversion to ease the medical frontliners.
