ROXAS CITY, Capiz— The Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO) is now accepting complaints regarding alleged anomalies in the distribution of the Special Amelioration Program (SAP).
Police Colonel Julio Gustilo, Capiz police director, said that the Provincial Investigation and Detective Management Unit (PIDMU) has started investigating several reported SAP distribution anomalies in Capiz.
Gustilo said that he directed the city and municipal police stations to prioritize complaints on SAP anomalies and ensure quick investigation against involved corrupt local officials.
He added that all police stations including the provincial headquarters have already established SAP Complaint Hotlines.
He also urged the public to file formal complaints with substantial evidence against local officials involved in SAP distribution anomalies.
Media reports in Capiz indicated that most of the complaints are non-inclusion in the list of beneficiaries submitted by barangay officials and barangay health workers.
Other complaints were about the deduction of a part of the P6,000 SAP allowance by barangay officials so that other qualified residents who were not in the list could also avail of the financial assistance.
SAP is the assistance given to families affected by the coronavirus disease 2019.
