After days of being silent, UST Growling Tigers head coach Aldin Ayo finally revealed why they released their superstar CJ Cansino.
The veteran chief tactician explained that amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, people also have different styles of how to cope and how to keep themselves together.
For Ayo, he revealed that he and Cansino started to have marked differences which led to the decision of kicking him out of the varsity team.
“The circumstances of life today have brought out the marked differences between my orientation in life and the fundamental option of our player CJ Cansino,” Ayo said.
With Cansino exposing UST’s practice bubble in Sorsogon two months ago, he bared that his mental health got affected due to homesickness and exhaustion.
“We have varying approaches and adaptation to cope with the crisis. And as we have differences in strokes for different folks, we labor to respect such differences and allow generously for people to grow in the best way they could in whatever situation best fitting them,” Ayo continued.
Right after Cansino’s arrival with the UP Fighting Maroons, coach Ayo had nothing against Cansino and instead, thanked him for the years of blood, sweat, and tears he offered for the men in yellow and white.
“We wish him the Best of Providence in his new endeavor with a different team. We express our gratitude for the years and effort he poured so generously for UST,” Ayo closed.
