The blessings keep on pouring for the Philippines’ number one virtual kata athlete.
Aside from clinching a record-setting 17 international e-Kata gold medals, James delos Santos also became the first-ever eKata player to score over 26 points.
Delos Santos accomplished the world record after his gold medal win in the Katana InterContinental Karate League e-Tournament.
Delos Santos achieved an astonishing 26.1 score in the finals when he went up against one of the finest in the business, Costa Rica’s Juan Achio in the seniors e-kata event.
Achio managed to score 25.1 but the flawless execution of delos Santos was able to give him a respectable lead.
“In the final round, I faced Costa Rica and snagged the gold medal. Not only that, but I won it as the first eKata player to ever score over 26. To my kata coach, Masa Saito, this is a record for us,” said delos Santos.
Delos Santos achievements are made even more impressive after he was ranked as the world’s no. 1 virtual kata athlete, surpassing Eduardo Garcia of Portugal.
