EJ Obiena is finishing up his 2021 Tokyo Olympics preparations after clinching another international medal during the Copernicus Cup in Torun, Poland.

The bronze medal finish was one of many medals he earned in the intensive camp heading into the Olympics.

Obiena registered a score of 5.80 meters and was behind pole-vaulting greats Sam Kendricks of the United States and Plotr Lisek.

“What it showed me is there’s still a lot more to work on. Hope to somehow someday to make it all worthwhile,” posted Obiena on his Facebook account.

Previously, Obiena shattered his own Philippine records during international indoor tournaments.

Just this month, Obiena was able to participate in six competitions and won a total of two gold medals, one silver, and one bronze with a couple of top five finishes.
