After the Games and Amusements Board (GAB) and the Pilipinas VisMin Super Cup officials decided to cease the Mindanao leg momentarily, everything is now all set for its return.
The highly-anticipated Chooks-to-Go VisMin Mindanao leg will finally begin this May 30 with the approval of GAB chairman Abraham Mitra and VisMin commissioner Eduard Trinidad.
Previously, GAB and Vismin officials ordered a halt to preparations for the incoming Mindanao leg after the controversial game between the Siquijor Mystics and ARQ Builders Lapu-Lapu City Heroes.
Mitra together with the GAB Anti-Illegal Gambling Unit (AIGU) and PNP Alcantara, Cebu finally concluded their investigation into the alleged game-fixing.
“Both GAB and the league knew the challenges when the games were launched: health protocols and game-manipulation being on top of the list. We are just glad that we are able to move forward, thanks to a large part on the professionalism of league management and the sacrifices of our personnel on the field who joined the bubble as supervisors,” said Mitra.
Following the successful report of the AIGU and PNP Alcantara, commissioner Trinidad then informed the Mindanao participants to get ready.
However, the VisMin officials are yet to announce the host place for the debuting Mindanao leg where a reported eight participating squads will be entering the bubble.
