After more than two years, Major Cenon Pancito III will end his stint as the spokesperson of the Philippine Army’s 3rd Infantry Division.
Pancito said his exodus from the 3rd ID’s Division Public Affairs Office (DPAO) was forthcoming since he had already exceeded the usual two-year tour of duty.
He set foot on the 3rd ID based in Camp Peralta in Jamindan, Capiz on October 30, 2018 following his designation as the deputy of the Office of the Assistant Chief of Staff for Communications, Electronics, and Information System (G6).
On May 26, 2019, he took charge of the DPAO.
A member of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Class 2006, Pancito posted notable accomplishments while at the helm of the DPAO.
During his stint, the 3rd ID DPAO was adjudged as the best DPAO in all of Philippine Army major units for 2021. He also initiated the first established internet radio among Philippine Army major unit.
The 3rd ID’s Facebook page, the Philippine Army Spearhead Troops, is one of the two units of the Philippine Army units that earned a Facebook blue verification badge. The blue badge on a page of profile means that Facebook confirmed that it is the authentic page or profile of a public figure, company, or brand.
It is also the most liked and most followed FB page with over 170,000 followers.
Pancito is slated to be assigned with the AFP Civil Relations Service based in Camp Aguinaldo in Quezon City.
He was reportedly projected to act as group commander of the Media Civil Affairs Group and station manager of the AFP’s radio station dwDD 1134 kHz.
Over the weekend, Pancito said there was no order yet as to his successor.
It was gathered that the newly designated 3rd ID commander, Major Gen. Benedict Arevalo, might be choosing between Captain Kim Apitong of PMA Class 2009 and 1Lt Lieutenant Trisha Anuary of PMA Class 2015.
The decision might be known Tuesday, September 21, once Arevalo officially assumes as 3rd ID’s commanding general.
