The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and the Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI) have unveiled the logo for the 2023 AFI Global Policy Forum (GPF) which they will jointly host from 12 to 15 September in Manila.
The Forum theme is “Stability, Sustainability, and Inclusivity for Shared Prosperity.” The theme emphasizes the transformational impact of technology on financial inclusion and sustainable development in the monetary and financial stability mandates of AFI members.
AFI is a global network of central banks, financial regulators, and other stakeholders from 76 countries working together to promote and develop policy solutions and regulation that improve lives of the poor through financial inclusion.
BSP Governor Felipe M. Medalla said: “We are all set for a gathering of financial inclusion champions and advocates ready to push the financial inclusion agenda forward. This year’s forum is an opportunity to leverage recent gains and strengthen our joint commitment toward inclusive development.”
The 2023 AFI GPF in Manila is expected to draw around 800 local and international participants, including heads and senior officials of central banks, financial regulators, and other partner institutions.
One of the founding members of the AFI network, the BSP will be hosting the GPF for the first time.
The 2023 AFI GPF logo features a pearl-inspired design –based on the famous description of the Philippines as the “Pearl of the Orient Seas”— and represents an abstract visualization of the Philippine map. The dynamic shapes pointing toward the pink dot, representing Manila, aim to convey the convergence of the event’s thematic areas of stability, sustainability, and inclusivity. The logo’s colors and shapes also echo agility and dynamism, which are some of the most vital values that underpin the pursuit of financial inclusion.
