An employee of the Iloilo provincial government was arrested in a police anti-narcotics operation afternoon of July 26 at Lapuz, Iloilo City.
Jojerick Bisnar, 42, of Barangay 3, San Miguel, Iloilo, was arrested at his boarding house at Don Esteban, Lapuz district.
Members of the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU) 6, together with the Iloilo City Police Station 2, collared Bisnar after allegedly selling a sachet of suspected shabu for P5,000.
Operatives also seized eight more sachets of suspected shabu, a coin purse with P355 cash, and a mobile phone.
Lieutenant Colonel Antonio Benitez, Jr., ICPO-CDEU chief, said the seized shabu weighed around 20 grams and was valued at P136,000.
Bisnar, an administrative aide 4 at the Iloilo Provincial Budget Office, was arrested after a month-long surveillance operation.
He claimed to have rented the room in Lapuz for over a month. But police noted that his rented space is bared of any of the suspect’s personal belongings.
But Bisnar claimed that he seldom stays in his boarding house, which just served as a halfway house if he cannot go home to San Miguel.
He declined to comment when asked about his alleged illegal drug involvement.
There were reports that he was subjected to Oplan Tokhang and yielded in 2016.
Bisnar is now detained and will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
