DTI Guimaras empowers Jordan town’s Local Price Coordinating Council

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Guimaras Consumer Protection team recently conducted an informative orientation meeting with the Local Price Coordinating Council (LPCC) of the Municipality of Jordan in Guimaras.

Mayor Cresente P. Chavez, Jr., who serves as the LPCC chairman of the municipality, welcomed to LPCC members and expressed his full support for the initiatives discussed.

During the session, comprehensive discussions took place concerning the essential aspects of the Price Act (RA 7581), which encompassed a thorough exploration of the LPCC’s powers and responsibilities.

Additionally, attention was given to the recently issued EO 39, titled “Implementation of Mandatory Price Ceilings on Rice,” introduced by President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. This executive order introduced price ceilings on both regular and well-milled rice.

The attendees actively participated in the open forum, where they raised questions and shared their valuable insights.

Toward the conclusion of the program, informational materials relating to the Price Act and associated advocacy subjects were distributed among the participants.

This event served as yet another successful collaboration between the DTI and local government units (LGUs) in the Province of Guimaras.
