A construction worker suffered a minor wound after he was shot in a beach resort in Arevalo, Iloilo City shortly after midnight on October 3.

Joel Daaco, 44, of Barangay Sto. Niño Norte, Arevalo, only sustained a graze wound on the tip of his eyebrow and ear.

Captain Mavin Laraño, Iloilo City Police Station 6, said the suspect did not require hospital confinement, as the bullet barely hit him.

According to reports, Daaco was binge drinking at Wilken’s Beach Resort at Sto. Niño Norte, Arevalo when the incident happened.

The suspect, Bernabe Galve, 44, a tricycle driver from Barangay Sto. Niño Sur, Arevalo, allegedly passed by his table and greeted him.

But the victim retorted, “Ano problem mo p’re?”

This did not sit well with Galve, as he was later seen pulling a gun of unknown caliber.

The victim immediately ran while Galve fired aiming at his head.

The suspect immediately fled and remains at large as of press time.
