Woman nabbed for selling shabu near police station

Just barely 200 meters from the police station, a woman agreed to sell illegal drugs to her client.

Little did Christie Marie Salvilla, 35, of Barangay Sambag, Jaro, Iloilo City, know that her client was a police poseur-buyer.

Members of the Iloilo City Police Station 6 nabbed Salvilla in a buy-bust operation early morning of Nov. 14 at Barangay Santa Felomina, Arevalo, just in front of the Arevalo town plaza and a stone’s throw away from the ICPS6 office.

The suspect allegedly sold a sachet of suspected shabu for P7,000.

Police also seized five more sachets of shabu, several non-drug items, and her Honda City sedan.

Captain Mavin Laraño, ICPS6 chief, said Salvilla was arrested after a two-week surveillance operation.

The police initially thought that Salvilla was a man as she identified herself as alias Toto via text messages.

She readily agreed and offered no hesitation when the undercover cop recommended that they should meet up in front of the town plaza at 2:15 a.m. on Tuesday.

The woman was alone and may have come from previous transactions with other clients in Iloilo province.

She had no previous arrest but admitted to using drugs.

Salvilla is now detained and will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
