A 30-year-old man is the latest to fall in a police anti-illegal drug operation afternoon of Nov. 20 in Jaro, Iloilo City.
Jhemar Roxas alias Nonoy Pagong, 30, of Barangay Balabago, Jaro was arrested at Alta Tierra Village, Jaro by members of the Iloilo City Police Office-City Drug Enforcement Unit (ICPO-CDEU) after allegedly selling a sachet of suspected shabu for P8,000.
Police operatives further seized from him 14 more sachets of suspected shabu, several non-drug items, and a Kawasaki Bajaj motorcycle.
Lieutenant Colonel Antonio Benitez Jr., CDEU chief, said the seized drugs weighed around 55 grams and were valued at P374,000.
Benitez said Roxas was arrested after two weeks of monitoring.
Roxas claimed to have gone into drug pushing to sustain his shabu use. He allegedly got his supply from a certain Adonis of Barangay Desamparados, Jaro.
Benitez said the suspect employed the usual means of drug trade: deliver the items when you order.
Roxas is now detained and will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
