ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A 58-year-old farmer was stabbed dead by his drinking partner Saturday evening in Barangay San Blas Pilar, Capiz.
Alias Johnny of Brgy. San Esteban Pilar town was declared dead on arrival at Bailan District Hospital in Pontevedra town due to a fatal stab wound inflicted by the suspect identified as alias “Atap” of Brgy. San Blas.
Investigation by Pilar Municipal Police Station indicated that the incident happened around 9:40 pm while the suspect and the victim were drinking liquor together with their other friends in a store.
A commotion suddenly occurred after the victim allegedly bullied the suspect. The suspect took a bladed weapon and stabbed the victim in the body.
The suspect immediately fled after the incident while the victim was taken to the hospital.
The suspect was later arrested in a police hot pursuit operation.
He is presently in the custody of Pilar police station while appropriate charges will be filed against him.
