Barring major problems in the power generation and transmission side, MORE Power assured a smooth and uninterrupted celebration of the Dinagyang Festival 2024.
As the much-anticipated Dinagyang Festival 2024 approaches, MORE Power, represented by
Engr. Bernard Bailey Del Castillo, MORE Power Vice President for Network Development and Operations Group, said they formulated proactive measures in preparation for the festival.
Del Castillo said they deployed 30 teams strategically positioned in key areas.
“These teams are well-prepared to respond to any electrical concerns that may arise, ensuring the continuous delivery of reliable power throughout the event,” he added.
Del Castillo emphasized that they coordinated with various agencies for a quicker and more unified response to incidents during the revelry.
“We have already taken preventive actions, deploying 30 teams strategically across the city. We have coordinated with the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) to facilitate immediate responses in case of emergencies.”
MORE Power urged both Ilonggos and festival visitors to exercise caution with balloons by ensuring that these are properly secured to prevent unintended incidents.
Uncontrolled balloon releases pose a potential risk of entanglement with power lines, leading to unscheduled power interruptions, the firm added.
MORE Power also advised residents and eventgoers to take precautions before leaving their homes for the Dinagyang festivities.
Households must ensure that appliances are unplugged, and circuit breakers are switched off, to significantly reduce the risk of fire hazards and electrical incidents.
“We want everyone to enjoy the Dinagyang Festival to the fullest, and our team is working tirelessly to distribute and provide reliable power supply throughout the celebration,” added Engr. Del Castillo.
