PSA Guimaras awards Jordan LCRO for winning 34th CRM quiz bee

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Guimaras Provincial  Statistical Office bestowed the 1st place award to the staff of Jordan Local Civil Registry Office (LCRO) for winning the 34th Civil Registration Month (CRM) Provincial Quiz Bee held during the Opening Ceremony in Jordan, Guimaras.

Michael C. Esprago of Jordan LCRO bested fellow contestants Sherel F. Labaro of Buenavista LCRO, Josie G. Galimba of Sibunag LCRO, Elisa M. Elefan of San Lorenzo LCRO and Joan Faith G. Galon of Nueva Valencia LCRO in the 34th CRM Provincial Quiz Bee Contest conducted by the PSA Guimaras.

The quiz was organized in partnership with the Guimaras Civil Registrar’s Association Inc (GCRAI) on February 2, 2024.

Labaro got second place while Galimba ranked third, and the other two contestants, Galon of Nueva Valencia and Elefan of San Lorenzo, got the consolation prizes.

The top 3 winners were given certificates of recognition with corresponding cash prizes of Php3,000, Php2,000, and Php1,000, respectively, while the other two participants received certificates of participation and consolation prizes of Php500 each.

“Esprago will represent the Province of Guimaras at the regional level quiz bee competition, one of the regional activities commemorating the 34th CRM. He defeated other provincial contestants of Region 6 during the 32nd CRM at the regional level and we are looking forward to bringing home the bacon this year’s 34th CRM Quiz Bee Competition,” Provincial Statistics Officer Nelida B. Losare said.

The quiz bee contest aimed to test the level of awareness and readiness of the LCRO staff in answering queries of clients regarding civil registry documents processes, test their knowledge of statistics and official data of their municipality, including gender issues and concerns, as well as on current events.

“I am grateful for the annual support of the contestants who bravely accepted the challenge to represent their municipality in the Quiz Bee contest, unveiling their expertise in the field of Civil Registration,” Losare said.
