A break-in at a home in Mandurriao, Iloilo City, resulted in the loss of cash and various items, as reported by a local resident.

Grace, a 20-year-old from Ana Ros Village, Barangay Calahunan, informed the police that she noticed the theft upon her return home around 7:50 a.m. on March 16.

According to Grace, before she entered her property, a neighbor alerted her to her gate being ajar. She found that her house had been thoroughly searched upon entering.

Reportedly stolen were P27,000 in cash, three passports, a Seiko wristwatch valued at P18,000, a Patek Philippe watch priced at P50,000, another watch worth P40,000, a pair of sunglasses costing P5,000, five land titles, a bank passbook, four certificates of time deposit, a BDO foreign currency ATM card, a PS Bank ATM card, and an assortment of jewelry whose value has yet to be determined.

Captain Val Cambel, chief of Iloilo City Police Station 5, suggests the perpetrator may have personal knowledge of the family.

“Though there was a forced entry, it appears the intruder knew exactly which parts of the house to target,” he said.

Cambel noted that the list of missing items is based on the victim’s preliminary inventory. A Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) team has been dispatched to further investigate the scene.
