BACOLOD CITY – The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-6 arrested a former overseas Filipino worker (OFW), who allegedly possessed P136,000 worth of suspected shabu in Barangay 5, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental, last Saturday.
Investigation Agent 1 Alvin Clemente, team leader of PDEA-6 Regional Special Enforcement Team (RSET) Bravo, identified the suspect as alias “Boboy,” 50, a resident of the city.
Clemente reported that the suspect was placed under a one-week surveillance after being reported through the Isumbong Mo sa PDEA (IMSP) information hotline.
Recovered from the suspect were 20 grams of suspected shabu and the P500 marked money.
Clemente stated that the suspect is considered a street-level individual.
The suspect had a previous case for attempted homicide, and this is his first apprehension for a drug offense, according to Clemente.
He added that the suspect was a former heavy machine operator abroad and is currently working as a driver in the province.
The buy-bust operation was supported by PDEA-Negros Occidental, the Seaport Interdiction Unit – Negros Occidental, and the San Carlos City Police Station.
