The Cadiz City government reached another milestone by releasing PHP10 million to its 5,000 college scholars on Saturday, October 19.

Each scholar under the 23-year-old Cadiz City Education Assistance Program (CCEAP) for Academic Year 2024-2025 received PHP2,000 during a ceremonial distribution held at the Cadiz Arena.

The event was highlighted by inspiring stories from CCEAP scholars, most of whom come from ordinary families in Cadiz. Their common goal is simple: to finish college, find jobs, and help their families.

Mayor Salvador Escalante Jr., the visionary behind CCEAP, said the educational program he initiated 23 years ago will remain a lasting legacy in the city.

“This program is for every Cadiznon who aspires to improve their life through college education,” the mayor said.

Escalante emphasized that CCEAP will always serve as a strong vehicle to help Cadiznons turn their dreams into reality.

He acknowledged that while CCEAP may not cover all the financial needs of the scholars, the assistance provided can make a significant difference in their pursuit of a college education.

For the past 23 years since CCEAP’s inception, Cadiz has produced many professionals, Escalante added.

“Seeing CCEAP alumni thrive, lead, and excel in communities both here and abroad is truly heartwarming,” Escalante shared.

Additionally, the mayor said that investing heavily in the education of Cadiznons is one of the most noble endeavors the city can take pride in.

“Helping each Cadiznon navigate life’s challenges through CCEAP is truly a noble mission,” he concluded.
