The Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) intensified its operations against illegal drugs and criminality, leading to significant accomplishments in November.
Colonel Bayani Razalan, Iloilo police chief, reported that sustained anti-drug efforts resulted in the arrest of 33 individuals, including 10 high-value targets and 23 street-level offenders.
During 33 anti-drug operations, authorities confiscated 1,262.51 grams of shabu worth PHP 8,585,060. A total of 72 cases were filed in court.
Razalan emphasized that the success of the anti-drug drive positively impacts the IPPO’s campaign against other forms of criminality.
Meanwhile, 96 manhunt operations led to the arrest of 98 wanted individuals, including 17 classified as most wanted.
In the campaign against illegal gambling, IPPO conducted 17 operations that resulted in the arrest of 56 individuals. Authorities seized PHP 14,712 in cash bets and filed 16 cases.
To address loose firearms, IPPO carried out 17 operations, arresting 19 individuals and recovering 28 firearms. Nineteen cases were filed for firearm-related violations, while 17 unlicensed guns were surrendered, and nine with expired licenses were turned in for safekeeping.
The police also cracked down on illegal fishing with 29 operations. These resulted in the arrest of 62 individuals, the impoundment of 46 fishing boats, and the confiscation of fish valued at PHP 77,800.
Additionally, 18 operations against illegal quarrying activities led to the arrest of 18 individuals and the impoundment of 18 delivery trucks.
Razalan praised the efforts of his team, saying these accomplishments reflect their dedication to law enforcement and public safety in Iloilo Province.
“The impressive accomplishments in November are a testament to the dedication and hard work of our personnel in combating crime and maintaining peace in Iloilo. As we prepare for the Yuletide season, we assure the public of our commitment to ensuring safety and security for everyone,” Razalan said.
He also encouraged public cooperation to create a harmonious and crime-free environment during the holiday season.
