The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Region 6 has registered 6,897,434 residents to the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) as of December 27, 2024.
The milestone represents 99.65% of the region’s target of 6,921,505, highlighting the agency’s commitment to making PhilSys accessible to all Western Visayas residents.
Among its accomplishments, PSA Antique extended PhilSys registration services to the remote communities of Semirara and Caluya Islands, registering 1,820 residents from November 4 to 16.
In partnership with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Caluya and Barangay Semirara, this initiative ensured that geographically isolated residents could register without the need for long-distance travel.
The effort included the Rehistro Bulilit campaign, which focused on registering children aged 1-4 years, emphasizing PSA Antique’s dedication to inclusivity.
PSA Region 6 employed various strategies to make registration accessible. Urban and suburban areas benefited from PSA-based and mall-based registration centers, while LGU-based fixed and mobile services reached rural and remote communities.
Collaborations with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) enabled colocated registration during Family Development Sessions (FDS), simplifying the process for beneficiaries.
Efforts to register children aged 0-4 years have been a significant focus, with 94,619 children registered out of a projected population of 767,866 in this age group.
Initiatives like Rehistro Bulilit provided a child-friendly registration process to encourage participation.
In 2025, PSA Region 6 plans to launch hospital-based registration to seamlessly enroll newborns into the National ID system and further expand its coverage.
Collaborations with schools, workplaces, and community organizations have also broadened the program’s reach.
School-based registration drives and mobile services allowed more students and community members to access PhilSys benefits.
As PSA Region 6 builds on its 2024 achievements, the agency remains steadfast in its mission to make the National ID system accessible to all residents of Western Visayas.
By delivering inclusive and accessible registration services, PSA aims to ensure that every Filipino can fully benefit from the opportunities provided by the National ID system.
