SSS Recovers PHP600K From Delinquent Employers in Panay

The Social Security System Visayas West 2 Division has intensified its enforcement campaign against delinquent employers in Panay Island, recovering around PHP600,000 in past-due contributions in the first quarter of 2025.

SSS Vice President for Visayas West 2 Division Angelo O. Blancaver said 87 employers in Iloilo Central, Molo, Roxas, Antique and Kalibo were issued notices under the agency’s Run After Contribution Evaders campaign.

These establishments reportedly incurred PHP4.63 million in unremitted contributions and penalties.

Employers were given 15 days to coordinate with their SSS branch offices and settle their obligations to avoid legal action.

“Several employers have made initial compliance, resulting in the collection of past-due contributions,” Blancaver said.

He added that about 521 employees will now benefit from updated SSS records.

These updated records will make workers eligible for SSS benefits and loans.

Blancaver warned that employers who ignore SSS notices may face legal consequences under Republic Act No. 11199 or the Social Security Act of 2018.

Under the law, employers who fail to register employees or remit contributions may be fined between PHP5,000 and PHP20,000 and imprisoned for six to 12 years.

Blancaver urged business owners to comply by reporting all employees to the SSS within 30 days of hiring.

He also reminded employers to remit monthly contributions on time.
