An All-Filipino battle will be featured for the World Boxing Association (WBA) minimumweight title in September.
Vic Saludar and Robert Paradero will be sharing the same ring not as teammates but as opponents that will tangle for the WBA title at the Elorde Sports Center in Parañaque City.
The matchup was set right after long-time champion Knockout CP Freshmart (Thammanaon Niyomtrong) decided to vacate his title which he held since 2016 and holds a staggering belt-defense record of 12 fights.
If the Thai champion will choose to move up in weight, the Saludar-Paradero bout will then push through this September in front of their co-Filipino fans.
The 24-year-old Paradero is still unbeaten with a record of 18-0 with 12 wins coming from way of knockout including a huge one over Jonathan Almacen in his last fight.
On the other hand, the veteran Saludar, who is also the former World Boxing Organization champion, holds a record of 20 wins (11 by knockout) with 4 losses.
