Mark Striegl has been working hard since getting cleared to get back in the UFC after contracting COVID-19.
The Filipino-American legendary mixed martial artist had a roller coaster ride the moment he arrived on American soil after seeing his highly-anticipated UFC debut get delayed.
Striegl had to face weeks of quarantine as part of league safety protocols for fighters who will test positive in their RT-PCR results.
After announcing that he already tested negative and was cleared to resume training, Striegl mentioned nothing except his desire to already set foot in the octagon.
For almost two months now, the 32-year-old legend has been finalizing his game plan as he is set to square off against Said Nurmagomedov of Russia in UFC Fight Night: Ortega vs Korean Zombie on October 18, Sunday.
“I know Said is a tough opponent, he’s a great fighter and this is going to be a war. I’ll be bringing my best,” Striegl said.
Said is Khabib’s cousin, the current UFC lightweight champion and is riding on an impressive start in the league, winning two of his first three bouts.
