BACOLOD City – Dr. Grace Tan, spokesperson of the Inter- Agency Task Force against the corona virus disease 2019 (COVID -19) here, confirmed that another Person Under Investigation (PUI) died  Monday.

PUIs are persons with signs and symptoms and have travel history to infected areas or exposure to positive cases.

Tan said the 62-year-old PUI travelled to Manila.

She succumbed to cardiac arrhythmias and had diabetes.

Her swab test result has yet to be released.

The first PUI who passed away was a 60- year-old male but his swab test result showed he is negative for COVID-19.

Tan also told Daily Guardian on Tuesday that three of the four COVID-19 positive patients are recovering while one is critical.

The first COVID-19 positive patient in Bacolod and the region has recovered after his swab test result was negative for the virus.

Meanwhile Sagay City Mayor Alfredo Marañon III said they will file charges against a doctor if proven that she had breached protocols after she allegedly reported to the hospital despite being a PUI.

Marañon said the doctor may have put the lives of frontliners and Sagaynons in grave danger.

The doctor is a consultant at the Alfredo Marañon Sr. Memorial District Hospital.

Marañon said she went to the Sagay hospital and attended to patients there despite her being a PUI.

The mayor said that as a preventive measure, the operating room and other areas in the hospital will be fully disinfected to ensure the safety of all patients and medical staff.

Some of the nurses will also be quarantined.

The doctor underwent COVID swab test on March 28 and the result could be out Thursday.
