BACOLOD City – The Army’s 11th Infantry Battalion (IB) is urging everyone to promote the “bayanihan” spirit especially during these trying times.

1st Lieutenant Andrew Bon Apayart, commanding officer of 11th IB Charlie Company, said that the “bayanihan” spirit will make people understand that helping each other and showing compassion to others can make a difference.

Military troopers recently helped in the construction of a new house for fire victims at Sitio Lapong, Barangay Dahile, Mabinay, Negros Oriental last Sunday.

On May 26, a fire razed the house of Victorino Beronio.

Beronio was with his six children when the incident happened.

Beronio supports his family alone after his wife did not return when she left for a job in Cebu.

The construction of a new house was made possible through the help and support of the municipal government led by Mayor Joeterry Uy, SB member Godiardo Codera, local rescue unit, Mabinay United Bikers Association (MAUBA), and Boss Amo Youth Group of Barangay Pantao headed by livelihood staff Larry Rodriguez.
