BACOLOD City – The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) conducted a simulation exercise on Monday to refresh safety guidelines among the frontliners assigned at a check-up point along the border of Bacolod-Talisay area to prevent the spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, BCPO public information officer, said that the Police Regional Office (PRO) – 6 directed the police offices to hold SIMEX to fortify the capabilities of the personnel to response to some cases.
Pico said that through SIMEX, they will be able to check how these personnel respond if there’s refusal among individuals to undergo thermal scanning or if there’s a need to rush a person to the hospital for having a high temperature in border control check-up points.
“Our personnel know what they have to do but this is just a refresher. This is part of our contingency in case our frontliners face problems in their area of assignment,” he said.
Pico said they also have to check how the frontliners execute their roles during the check-up points.
“They should not be complacent. They should strictly check all vehicles and passengers passing by the border control points,” he added.
